Today marked a new day in the life of Evan W. Smith. Today was the first day on my own in Savannah. After saying goodbye to my parents at the hotel last night, I walked back a mile or two with some friends and hung out. Today was such a busy day that I hadn't even had time to process that my parents weren't here anymore.
I think the key to my success for these two weeks is staying busy, but not busy enough that I crash. I have been making TONS of friends which is amazing. I am truly blessed and know that it is a God thing that all these people are so nice and welcoming. Even upperclassman have been very inviting into the SCAD family.
Another milestone that I overcame today and will continue to overcome in the future is going to church on a regular basis. I attended "late church" at 11 with my friends Natalie and Robert. It was very cool and I intend on going back.
It is now the end of day four at SCAD (yes, I know I skipped a day blogging), but I leave you with this. I can definitely without a doubt, see friendships shaping into something big. Savannah is quickly beginning to feel like home and I love it! I hope and pray that the welcoming "lets all have fun and kick back" attitude stays throughout all four years. I love meeting anyone who is willing to be met.
